Maize Farm

Maize (corn) is a staple food for millions worldwide, with its production exceeding wheat and rice. It is the most popular and abundantly produced and consumed grain on earth, with over  1.04 billion tonnes of the six major types of maize(popcorn,?flour corn,?dent corn,?flint corn,?pod corn, and?sweet corn produced annually.

The popularity of maize stems from its versatility. All parts of this mostly tall grain (it grows to a height of 2-3 meters, or 7-10 feet) are economically useful: the stalks serve as fodder for livestock feed, as well as paper and wallboard. The cobs and kernels are used for food and to make fuel. The husk is an input in food covering, while the silk can be used for medicinal tea.

The maize plant is celebrated in many African cultures as the savior and provider of food such as in Ugalii in East Africa, Pap in Southern Africa, Akple, Banku, Kenkey in West Africa. Maize is the basic raw material for corn flour, corn oil, cornmeal, cornstarch, corn syrup, and laundry starch.

The Gnostic Agritech Limitless maize farms are currently located in the Savannah, transitional, and woodland zones, taking advantage of the climatic conditions that favour the production and distribution of the crop.
